LRS joined our clients at Deschutes County and Cumming Group in Bend this week to celebrate the official groundbreaking of the long-anticipated Deschutes County Courthouse expansion! Designed by LRS, this 51,000 SF expansion provides new, modern court rooms with judges chambers, jury deliberation rooms, and support staff offices. It will also create a new, accessible public entrance for the courthouse, with a beautiful double-height mass timber space that provides a warm, calming welcome for visitors.

Presiding Judge Wells Ashby said, “For so long, we didn’t have enough judges. Now we have the judges and we just need some more space. So, this really represents a strong commitment by our community in justice and the rule of law for now and decades to come.”
