Earth Advantage CertificationNestled in the heart of Southeast Portland’s Powelhurst-Gilbert neighborhood, Garden Park Estates Apartments currently offers 63 affordable two-bedroom units and a single three-bedroom house. As a part of a transformative redevelopment, Innovative Housing Inc. will replace some of the existing smaller residential buildings with new garden apartment buildings bringing the number of residences to 116 in a mix of 1, 2, and 3 bedrooms.
The new units will be developed as efficient, well-designed buildings with nine to 18 units each, the majority being two-story townhouses. Existing units will undergo significant rehabilitation to enhance comfort and energy-efficiency. The newly configured site will provide lower rent levels and a more comprehensive array of unit types, including 25 permanent supportive housing apartments for individuals exiting homelessness and additional family-sized units. Additionally, it will create a common space where residents can gather, relax, and connect, fostering a sense of community.

The community will offer a variety of amenities, including a children’s play area, on-site management and residential services offices, a convenient laundry room, and an outdoor amphitheater. The amphitheater will serve as a venue for Innovative Housing’s youth arts program and will also be accessible to members of the local neighborhood.
