September 27, 2023
We are excited to share that LRS Principal Amalia Mohr will be speaking at the Portland State of the Market conference hosted by Bisnow, which will be held on October 10 at 8:00 a.m. Amalia will participate on a panel titled “Future of Portland: Living, Working and Playing: Revitalizing the City Through Placemaking, Tenant Attraction and Retention, and Market Stability and Economic Growth Strategies.” Amalia’s co-panelists include Lincoln Property Company West Executive Vice President Patrick Gilligan, Edge Development President Scott Elliott, and Andrew Fitzpatrick, Director of Economic Development for the Office of Mayor Ted Wheeler.
The panelists will discuss Portland’s revitalization goals, development, and economy, and how the post-pandemic paradigm has shifted regarding the city’s infrastructure and identity—particularly regarding housing and tenant retention.
“The last few years affected our city in ways that we never could have envisioned before 2020. But Portland is resilient, and there are so many opportunities ahead for growth, development, and positive transformation,” Amalia says. “It is a critical, exciting moment to explore new ideas and envision Portland’s future.”
Amalia was named among the DJC Oregon’s Phenoms & Icons for 2021 in recognition of her leadership in the industry, her deep care for her clients and her teams, and her work’s focus on the human aspects of design. As an interior design leader at LRS, she maintains a long-term vision and focus on the happiness and well-being of the people who live, work, and play in the environments we design – something she strives to bring to her work in Portland and other metropolitan areas where LRS works.
Amalia has been involved with a wide variety of local projects for notable civic and commercial clients including Portland Business Alliance, Columbia Distributing, and Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, as well as Multnomah County, Clackamas County, and the State of Oregon, among others. Mostly recently, she completed the new Visitor Center for Travel Portland that aims to be a catalyst for revitalization in the heart of downtown Portland. She joined LRS in 2016 as a senior interior designer and was promoted to principal in early 2022.
“Amalia continues to distinguish herself as a leader not only at LRS but in the field of design,” said Trish Nixon, President of LRS. “Our company is committed to being part of the solutions to our city’s post-pandemic challenges, and Amalia brings passion, creativity, and dedication to a wide variety of initiatives devoted to this work. We look forward to her panel discussion and we are eager to continue this conversation with other industry experts.”
