Meet The Designer: Britney Hale

December 22, 2021

Meet Britney Hale, an NCIDQ certified interior designer, with a focus in commercial office and workplace projects. Britney is an Oregon native (grew up in Eugene) and later attended the University of Oregon’s Interior Design program – Go Ducks!  She was inspired at a young age by her dad who went to drafting school, and often set up the drafting board on their dining room table. It started out with her drawing circle designs with her dad’s drafting compass and coloring them in. Later it turned into a binder full of hand drafted dream house designs.

I’ve always loved creating floor plans, but I always think of creating space from the inside out, so interior architecture seemed only natural to me!

What do you like best about LRS?

My coworkers are like extended family! The studio environment allows us to form close friendships even within a large company.

Recently completed LRS project:

We recently completed Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA). Designing during the pandemic brought on new challenges, but we had a great client and a great construction team that made it so much fun!

What are you passionate about? (professionally)

I strongly believe that every project is an opportunity to tell our client’s story. For me, it’s not about the latest design trends or what’s popular on social media. It’s all about creating a space that is unique to our clients and telling who they are through the use of space and materials.

What is your favorite building or interiors?

It’s hard to pick a favorite, but the first time I was completely overwhelmed by a building was at the Mount Angel library by Alvar Aalto. The way the library revolves around the central lightwell is spectacular. The library is flooded with natural lighting, beautiful woodwork, and original Aalto furniture pieces.

What is something your co-workers or clients don’t know about you?

I would spend every weekend camping with friends and family if I could!
