WATCH: New short film celebrates the history and evolution of the LRS Architects Auto Studio

February 29, 2024

LRS Architects’ long history of innovative work for automotive clients and international car brands began, fittingly, with a “first.” In 1980, LRS founder Bill Ruff designed the first Ferrari dealership in North America, prompting the establishment of our firm’s dedicated Auto Studio and setting LRS on the path to become one of the foremost U.S. architects serving the auto industry. The rest is a history we’re extremely proud of.

Over 40 years later, the LRS Auto Studio is still paving the way in automotive design, breaking ground on exciting new projects and helping our auto clients to bring their visions of the future to life. In 2023, we celebrated the completion of our 100th built auto project, the Porsche Studio in Portland. Like the Ferrari dealership before it, the Porsche Studio has the distinction of being the first such studio space in the U.S. This month, we also celebrated the retirement of Principal Steve Mileham, who helped to establish the LRS Auto Studio and whose esteemed leadership and dedication ensured our clients and our team could flourish, now and well into our next 100 auto projects.

We are thrilled to debut our short film about the history of the LRS Architects Auto Studio, our 100th project, and our team’s vision for the future of auto dealership design. Watch and enjoy!

What a ride!
