Two LRS teams competed in our first inaugural Pole Pedal Paddle relay competition this past weekend in Bend! The Pole Pedal Paddle consists of six legs: Alpine skiing with a 200m sprint uphill to start, 8 km of cross country skate skiing, 22 miles of road biking, 5 miles of trail running, a canoe/ kayak/ SUP leg, and the finishing mile sprint. Our two teams consisted of Michael Roberts and Mathew Dreska to start the alpine ski, Bruce Barton and Eric Kern for the Nordic Ski, Sherry Jako and Colton Groves on bike, Shirley Bircher and Kevin Schneider for the trail run, Mathew Dreska and Denise Gorman on kayak, and Emilie Le Garf and Kevin Schneider finishing with the mile sprint.
